AUDIOLOGISTS are health care and education professionals who identify, assess, and manage disorders of auditory (hearing), balance, and other neural systems. 

The scope of practice includes:

  • Identification, assessment, diagnosis, management, and interpretation of test results related to disorders of human hearing, balance, and other neural systems
  • Educating consumers and professionals on the prevention of hearing loss
  • Selecting, fitting, and dispensing hearing instruments and assistive listening devices
  • Evaluation and management of children and adults with central auditory processing disorders
  • Conduct and manage hearing screening programs for infants, children, and adults
  • Participating is hearing conservation programs
  • Working with children and adults who need aural rehabilitation

  • Custom made hearing protection
  • Custom ear pieces for hands free cell phone operation
  • Soundscopes for hunters
